Tim Zimmerman and The King's Brass present hymn classics with a contemporary flair. The King's Brass features three trumpets, three trombones, a tuba, percussion and keyboards. These instruments blend together to create a time of innovative worship that will be enjoyed by all generations.

The King’s Brass, formed four decades ago in Detroit, is comprised of professional musicians from across the country, who desire to use the instruments they love to lead others in praise and worship. Based out of Fort Wayne, Indiana, the group plays over 150 concerts per year from coast to coast as well as international destinations.

The King’s Brass’ eighteenth recording is titled Christmas JOY. This CD, released on the Summit Records label (www.summitrecords.com), welcomes guest organist Samuel Metzger. Selections include: Good Christian Men, Rejoice; Nutcracker - Dance of the Sugar Plums; What Child Is This?; The Little Drummer Boy; Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer; Hark! the Herald Angels Sing; Carol of The Bells; Christmas Time Is Here; Joy to the World!; and many more.

MEMBERS OF THE 2022-2023 KING'S BRASS TOUR

TIM ZIMMERMAN - Director of The King's Brass, Tim received his graduate degree in Trumpet Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, Maryland.  He has been a member of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and has assisted with orchestras in the Midwest and East Coast.  For thirteen years, Tim served as Chairman of the Music Department at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana.  He has also taught at Taylor and Indiana Wesleyan Universities in central Indiana.  Tim and his wife Beckie, have four grown children and live in sunny Fort Myers, Florida.

KYLE DAVIDSON – Originally from Cleveland, Tennessee, Kyle grew up in the Chattanooga area on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains.  He currently lives in Lexington, Kentucky, with his wife Daven, where he is pursuing a DMA in trombone performance at the University of Kentucky under the tutelage of Professor Bradley Kerns.  Kyle is also a student of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra trombonist, Joseph Rodriguez.  Mr. Davidson holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree from Lee University.  Outside of music, Kyle loves exploring Lexington with his dog, reading, and learning how to cook.

JACOB FULKERSON – Jacob is a student at the University of North Texas pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Tuba Performance.  He holds a Master of Music degree from Bowling Green State University, a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors degree from Carnegie Mellon University and is an Andrew Carnegie Society Scholar.  Jacob is a licensed music educator, published composer, and a performer at the Vienna Summer and Miami Music Festivals.  While in middle school, he saw The King’s Brass play a concert in the Toledo area.  Jacob is thrilled to come full circle and be a member of the group.  Originally from Michigan, he enjoys spending time with family, friends, and playing fetch with his two dogs, Buddy and Bear.

SUNGHWAN KIM - Originally from South Korea, Sunghwan recently earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from Ohio State University.  He holds two Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance and Collaborative Piano from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.  Dr. Kim has received many piano competition awards, such as the Franz Liszt International Piano and the American Protégé International Concerto Competitions.  Currently living in Columbus, Ohio, Sunghwan presents hymn concerts of his own piano arrangements and is publishing these arrangements in a book in the near future.  He also enjoys traveling, baseball and Korean cooking.

CHRISTIAN MARPLE - Christian currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in Trombone Performance at George Mason University in the studio of Dr. Alan Carr.  He has also completed a Bachelor of Business degree at Liberty University where he was active in many music ensembles and studied with Dr. Kevin Chiarizzio.  Christian has also studied with Cleveland Orchestra trombonist, Shachar Israel.  He frequently performs with the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Greater Washington, and the Lynchburg Symphony.  Christian enjoys spending time with family and friends, and watching his favorite sports team, the Carolina Panthers.

COLTON MORRIS - Dr. Colton Morris is a percussionist from Durham, North Carolina and has served in various capacities at George Mason University, Virginia Winds Academy, Mason Community Arts Academy, Johnson City Symphony Orchestra, the Arlington Philharmonic and Great Noise Ensemble.  He recently served as instrumental music director at the Centreville Baptist Church, outside Washington D.C.  Colton holds degrees in Doctor of Musical Arts (George Mason University), Master of Music (The University of Tennessee at Knoxville), and Bachelor of Music Education (Tennessee Tech University).  Outside of music, he loves Tar Heels basketball and a good book.

TONY SANDERS – Dr. Anthony (Tony) Sanders is a trumpet player currently based in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Originally from Brooten, Minnesota, he is also a collaborative pianist, organist, conductor and church music director.  This fall, Dr. Sanders will leave his faculty position at Mitchell Community College in Statesville, North Carolina, and join the music teaching faculty of Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota.  He holds degrees from UNC Greensboro (DMA), North Dakota State University (MM), and Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota (BM).  When not practicing, he enjoys watching movies, visiting local restaurants and playing classic Nintendo video games.

JOEY SCHNOEBELEN – Originally from Iowa City, Iowa, Joey holds Bachelor’s degrees in Music Performance and Accounting from the University of Iowa.  While at the University of Iowa, he was selected to the Disney All-American College Band, was a finalist in the Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Jazz Challenge, and was a three-time solo quarterfinalist at the National Trumpet Competition.  Additionally, Joey maintains an active performing schedule with the funk/pop group Ten of Soul, Joe Mattingly’s Newman Singers, and his own Jazz Quintet.  He enjoys powerlifting and spending time with family and friends.

JONAH TROUT - Jonah recently graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with a Certificate in Advanced Music Studies.  He also holds a Master of Music Degree in Performance from the same institution and a Bachelor of Music degree in Trombone Performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.  Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jonah has performed with the Johnstown Symphony, the Balcony Big Band, D&G Entertainment and Design at the Carowinds Theme Park in North Carolina, Symphoria in Syracuse, New York, and the Staff Orchestra at Camp of the Woods in Speculator, New York.  He is the assistance director for The King’s Brass.
