Central Methodist Day School is a ministry of Central Church. There are a number of classes within the Day School program designed to administer to different ages and different schedules. With the guidance and support of the Day School Board and our Pastoral Staff, our Director is responsible for the operation of the program. We offer individual classes for children ages 15 months - 4 years, as well as offering Randolph County’s only ½ day Kindergarten program.
At Central we set forth goals in order to ensure the very best for the children in our program. We strive to provide a nurturing, secure and Christian environment for our students. We employ children with Biblical truths in providing experiences that will encourage their spiritual growth, as well as experiences that will promote emotional, social and physical growth. The staff at Central endeavors to set forth a Christian foundation for relationships with other children and their families, as well as preparing your children for the next step in their academic adventure.
All of our preschool classes follow a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Our Kindergarten program follows objectives set forth by the NC Department of Instruction. In each of our classes learning is meaningful, genuine and functional, using an integrated, hands-on approach. Christian values are taught to children through sharing, taking turns, and being friends. By learning that, as individuals, they are wholly unique children of God, children can begin to develop a positive self-image. Through this process, they begin to see others as children of God, thus promoting the desire to share and build friendships.
Young children learn about our wondrous world through play experiences. Our teachers plan for the time, space and opportunities for the children to think , explore and discover new things. We want each child to love learning…and to feel loved.

Throughout the year we offer many special events for the children and their families. Due to restrictions imposed by Covid guidelines, many of our special events now take place within the classroom setting, but we try to have very diverse and interesting events throughout the school year. We are constantly trying to find new ways to include parents in special events both virtually and with pictures.
* Some events are specific to certain classes (age groups)
We also have Chapel each month, with a yearly theme. The children will learn songs that they will sing in our Spring Program. Some of our past Chapel Themes have included: The Miracles of Jesus, The Armor of God, and Heroes of the Bible. This past year our theme was “The Parables of Jesus”; the children learned how Jesus’s stories help us live better lives. Our current theme is “Animals of the Bible”.
The curriculum for all of our classrooms is faith-based. The Day School offers a well -balanced program that will teach the children about Jesus, while incorporating the wonderful world of ABC’s and 123’s. The preschool classes follow a set curriculum.
